Three Legacy Part Numbers for the Omega KIL Lever

The 03-231-OME replaces three legacy part numbers, as confirmed on the SecurityParts.com product page. Each covered a specific application before the current 03-231 prefix system was introduced.

• 03-031-OME: Original part number for cylindrical lock outside trim applications using the Omega KIL lever.
• 09-331-OME: Original part number for mortise lock trim applications. The 09 prefix in the legacy system identified mortise trim. If a specification or maintenance record lists 09-331-OME, the current replacement is the 03-231-OME.
• 03-331-OME: Original part number for exit device trim applications. If a work order references 03-331-OME for an exit device outside trim position, the current part is the 03-231-OME.

The 03-231-OME consolidates all three legacy references under one current part number, regardless of whether the original installation was on a cylindrical lock, mortise lock, or exit device.

Omega KIL Lever: No Tactile Variant in Any Format

The Schlage ND and ALX Series lever catalog offers tactile variants for Athens (8AT), Rhodes (8RO), Sparta (8SP), and Tubular (8TR) designs across all lever format prefixes. The Omega design has no tactile variant in any format. There is no 8OME designation in the 03-200 SFIC family, the 03-230 closed lever family, or the 03-231 KIL family. The 03-231-OME is the only Omega KIL lever available, and it has a standard smooth handle surface.

When a project uses Omega KIL levers as the building standard and certain doors require a tactile designation, the Omega design cannot satisfy that requirement. A different lever design must be specified for those specific doors, or the Omega specification must be revised at those openings.

03-042-OME Omega Rose: Required With This Lever

The Omega lever is the only lever design in the Schlage ND and ALX Series catalog that uses a dedicated rose. The official Schlage ALX Series Service Manual states that the 03-042-OME is the inside/outside rose for the Omega lever, and the 03-042-RHO is the inside/outside rose for all other lever designs except Omega. This applies to the KIL format lever as well. When the 03-231-OME is the outside trim lever, the 03-042-OME Omega Rose must be ordered at both the inside and outside positions. The 03-042-RHO Rhodes Rose does not fit the Omega lever hub correctly and must not be used in place of the 03-042-OME.

Compatibility and Full Function Coverage

The 03-231-OME is compatible with ALX Series, ND Series, CO-100, CO-200, CO-200/250, AD-200/250, AD-300, AD-400, and AD-993-DT Dummy Trim Exterior. ALX Series functions include ALX40, ALX44S, ALX50, ALX53, ALX70, and ALX80. ND Series functions include ND25x70, ND25x80, ND40, ND44, ND50, ND52, ND53, ND55, ND60, ND66, ND70, ND72, ND73, ND78, ND80, ND80EL, ND80EU, ND81, ND82, ND85, and the full Vandlgard series ND91 through ND97, plus all indicator variants throughout. Ten finishes are available: 605 (Bright Brass), 606 (Satin Brass), 612 (Satin Bronze), 613 (Oil Rubbed Bronze), 619 (Satin Nickel), 622 (Matte Black), 625 (Bright Chrome), 626 (Satin Chrome), 626AM (Satin Chrome Antimicrobial), and 643E (Aged Bronze). Finish must be specified at time of order. The KIL cylinder is not included.
