Athens, Rhodes, Sparta, and Omega levers all use shaped handles with profiles that vary along the shank. The Tubular lever maintains a consistent circular cross-section from the hub to the handle tip. At inside button lever positions, the Tubular profile delivers the same round handle ergonomics while accommodating the push button mechanism in the lever hub.

Within the 03-233 button lever family, the 03-233-TLR is the standard non-tactile Tubular button lever. The 03-233-8TR is the tactile version with a raised texture applied around the full circumference of the round handle for hazardous area door identification. Both cover the same function range and use the same two Service Manuals. When a facility uses Tubular levers as its established profile standard and inside button lever positions do not require the tactile designation, the 03-233-TLR is the correct selection. When both the Tubular profile and the tactile designation are required at the same inside button lever position, the 03-233-8TR is the correct part.
