The 03-277-8RO uses the Rhodes lever profile with knurled tactile grooves in the 03-277 Sargent FSIC format. Per the SecurityParts.com product page: "It is a genuine Schlage OEM Rhodes tactile replacement lever prepared for a Sargent Full-Size Interchangeable Core (FSIC), supplied less core." The knurled tactile grooves on the back of the handle meet ADA compliance for hazardous or restricted areas, as confirmed on the product page.

Per the FAQ: "This lever will not accept standard Key-in-Lever cylinders or Schlage-branded interchangeable cores. It is uniquely machined to seat the specific physical sizing and locking lug paths of a Sargent FSIC system." A compatible Sargent FSIC (J-SAR) 6-pin core must be sourced separately. The core is not included with the 03-277-8RO.

The 03-277-8RO and the 03-277-8AT (Athens Tactile Lever, Sargent FSIC Less Core) are both tactile levers in the 03-277 Sargent FSIC format. Both are Available (3-4 weeks) at the same price, both supply less cylinder, and both are documented in four Service Manuals covering ALX, ND, AD, and CO Series. The only difference is the lever profile. The 03-277-8RO uses the Rhodes design and the 03-277-8AT uses the Athens design. When a building uses Rhodes levers as its established standard and the installed core is a Sargent FSIC with a tactile designation required, the 03-277-8RO is the correct lever.

Series Compatibility and Finishes

The 03-277-8RO is compatible with AD Series, CO Series, ALX Series, and ND Series locks configured for Sargent FSIC J-SAR cores. Per the FAQ: "It is compatible across Schlage's premium heavy-duty mechanical and electronic platforms, including ND Series cylindrical locks, ALX Series modular locks, as well as AD and CO Series electronic access control systems." Ten finishes are listed: 605 (Bright Brass), 606 (Satin Brass), 612 (Satin Bronze), 613 (Oil Rubbed Bronze), 619 (Satin Nickel), 622 (Matte Black), 625 (Bright Chrome), 626 (Satin Chrome), 626AM (Satin Chrome Antimicrobial), and 643E (Aged Bronze).
