The ND70 (ANSI F84) classroom function was designed for traditional access control: the outside lever is always rigid, and a key from outside turns the cylinder to allow entry. The inside lever is always free for egress. There is no inside locking mechanism on the ND70. To secure an ND70 classroom, someone must approach the door, partially open it, insert a key from the outside, and turn it -exposing the person to the hallway during a lockdown event.
