LCN 8310 Touchless Actuators: Selecting the Right Type

The 8310-845 programmable relay module sequences door operation in Senior Swing and Benchmark operators for hardwired applications. It is the component that coordinates the timing relationship between the activation signal, the door motion, and the safety sensors.

The 8310-845 is specifically required when the door mount safety sensor (8310-804-1 or 8310-804-2) is installed in conjunction with the door position switch (8310-805 or 8310-805C) on electrohydraulic, pneumatic, or Benchmark operators. The relay module ensures the approach-side sensor is disabled when the door is in the closed position, preventing false activation from pedestrian traffic passing near a closed door.

If a door is cycling erratically, activating when no pedestrian is present, or failing to hold open correctly after the activation sensor triggers, the 8310-845 is the first relay component to inspect.
